Covid bluetooth tracking app using cryptography to protect privacy
An app that uses the new Bluetooth low energy Covid tracing would be great for mobile Linux users. The current specification used by Apple and Google works by transmitting random codes using Bluetooth and also receiving them. The phone keeps track of all the codes transmitted and received. If someone tests positive for Covid then their transmitted codes are added to a government database with then your phone queries and if some of the received code matches then a warning is given to the user that they might have been exposed to Covid.
