Overdrive distortion with all all audio effects disabled
On bass-heavy tracks, there is noticeable overdrive distortion of low frequencies (below maybe 50-60 Hz) when playing back a track in Lollipop vs. e.g. Totem.
-
lollypop-1.4.0-2 from Debian.
-
Equaliser disabled.
-
ReplayGain disabled.
-
Lollypop volume slider @ 100%.
-
PulseAudio application volume slider @ 100% (as shown in GNOME Settings).
-
Relevant audio hardware controls all below 0 dB.
-
Also tested with the following changes, no apparent difference:
gsettings set org.gnome.Lollypop replay-gain-db 0.0 gsettings set org.gnome.Lollypop replay-gain-limiter false
Does some sort of audio filtering pipeline remain active in Lollypop even with all effects being disabled, that might be causing this?
