Sidebar always groups by 2nd-level domain
Environment
- Eolie version: 0.9.42 (Flathub)
- GTK+ version: ?
- Operating system: Fedora Silverblue 28.20180917.0
Bug
-
Open 2 different websites whose URLs end with
.co.uk
, and one that doesn't.For example: bbc.co.uk, independent.co.uk, theguardian.com
-
Open and view the sidebar. Note how Eolie groups the sites.
The .co.uk
sites are grouped together as if they were 1 website, but they are separate sites. Here, the 2nd-level domain is a public suffix; each 3rd-level domain is a separate entity.
Eolie always groups sites by 2nd-level domain, even in this case.
-
Eolie should group sites according to the Public Suffix List: it should group sites one level down from the longest matching public suffix.
For example: the PSL includes
uk
andco.uk
, so these are all separate sites:foo.uk
,bar.uk
,baz.co.uk
,quux.co.uk
