Building TexLive Plugin using GNOME Builder
TL;DR in bold
Issue Description
I am getting stuck with GNOME Builder, trying to find out out how to build with the TexLive Plugin.
Tbh, not sure if bug or feature, as probably PEBCAK from my part - maybe feature to add docs?...
Describe the solution you'd like
Any or all of the following:
- A build config that includes the TexLive plugin to be included
- Information on how to include the TexLive plugin while building using GNOME Builder in the README section
- Any quick information anyone can provide, about an ideal way to setup the TexLive dependency through GNOME Builder, after successfully making the first build (I'll make an MR to consider adding the proper documentation to master branch)
Describe alternatives you've considered
- Tried modifying the default manifest
org.gnome.gitlab.somas.Apostrophe.json
, by setting"no-autodownload" : false, "autodelete" : false
. - Tried getting
org.gnome.gitlab.somas.Apostrophe.Plugin.TexLive.json
to run as a build, by which I mean, clicking pseudo-randomly trying to find a run build button... - Tried locating that build manifest from the Build Preferences tab in GNOME Builder
- Tried duplicating a Build Configuration from the Build Preferences tab in GNOME Builder, in the attempt to edit it so it linked to the plugin manifest instead.
- Followed the linked Newcomers guide, reading the building of flatpak docs
- Reviewed #46 (closed) to get a hint on how to approach it, maybe there, maybe not, too complex for me at the moment.
Additional context
Probably me being stupid, but to be fair, I did not have to review the build instructions to get the initial build, and had never used Builder before - testament to their UX.
Finally I was trying to use builder instead of going with building the flatpak package, as I did not want to be installed as a system flatpak, but just leave everything in a sand-boxed environment - basically, just looking at the intended way this is meant to be done for a development environment using GNOME Builder.
