Provides new users with an overview of what gradio does, screenshots of the application and simple build instructions from source (and ppa). I wrote the build instructions so that users could copy/paste them and have it work.
I also included a translations section with generic information about contributing but I'm not sure how you want to handle contributions for translations.
Hopefully that helps :)

Here is a proposal of translation in French.
Have you ever considered to host the translations in [Launchpad](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/LpProjectConfiguration), this way the translations could be more easily reviewed by Ubuntu Translators?

According to http://freedesktop.org/Standards/menu-spec you always need a sub-category. There was none in the utilities department so I switched this to multimedia instead.

Packaged it and submitted https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/416016 for review. As the Gtk3 requirements are quite high, this is currently exclusively available to @openSUSE's rolling release variant Tumbleweed. If you want to get listed with a nice screenshot, we will need to submit this to openSUSE:Factory including appropriate meta data: https://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/

First I just want to say that I love this app, great job !
Now, I've added few things that I was missing, like tray option and closing to tray, there is a option to turn that feature off, in tray itself on right click there are options to Play / Pause and Quit. Left click will bring the main window back if it was closed to tray.
Second thing is notifications when station change to a new song.
Third thing is a new TAG , some stations provide url for the art from the front cover of the album that is playing in homepage TAG, example of that is in the attached picture, station is Radio Paradise.
If there's no art in that TAG then standard station icon will show instead.
Also, you forgot to load window positions from gsettings, so that's added as well :)

There was one thing which annoyed me and that is volume.
At least on my system default volume position in Gradio set at 1.0 was too loud for me, so I had to play some station every time in order for Volume bar to appear, then I had to lower it down.
For that reason I decided to introduce volume position saving and loading, so if you set volume to be at half for example, next time you launch Gradio it will be at half.
I found it useful, maybe you will too :)

I've noticed empty body text in notification, which happens every time there is a & char in the string.
You can test that in terminal with :
notify-send "test & example"
but if you send :
notify-send "test & example"
it will display it correctly.
Edit : ah.. github automatically fixed the second notify-send so it doesn't show what I wanted :)
but you can see in the commit with what it has to be replaced to show it correctly

I've added an AC_ERROR message in the action-if-not-found argument for the valac test. This will end the configure script with an error message complaining about a missing vala compiler. It's a cleaner way as gradio compile process seems to depend on it.https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/merge_requests/185remove double menu bar2017-07-08T20:45:16Zalex285remove double menu barthis remove double menu when we disable app menusthis remove double menu when we disable app menus
