What I would expect is that Shortwave tries to recover streaming or reconnects to the station, if the network connection was dropped.https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/issues/595Use opus as recording codec2021-10-16T19:31:11ZLuca RuggeriUse opus as recording codecThe codes used for recorded tracks is currently OGG Vorbis, it's possible to switch to some more modern codec like OPUS?The codes used for recorded tracks is currently OGG Vorbis, it's possible to switch to some more modern codec like OPUS?https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/issues/535Layout/useability request - click on station should start playback, not show ...2021-11-20T14:48:34ZilippertLayout/useability request - click on station should start playback, not show info about stationIssue: clicking on a station does not start playback. Can you add a button in the right panel, under the pause btn, to add/remove the radio from the library?
It would make the function easily discoverable for new users, and it's convenient for everyone nevertheless.https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/issues/661[Feature request] Change the functionality of the radio station buttons2022-07-30T13:31:20ZAnders Lind[Feature request] Change the functionality of the radio station buttons**Background**

I spend much more time selecting a radio station for it to play back a stream than I spend on clicking to see the meta data information about a station. (The extra window that shows the info about the radio station e.g. data from https://www.radio-browser.info/ )
**Feature request**
Change the design of the radio station buttons so that:
1) The play button inside the (big) button is exchanged (permanently) with an information ℹ button with the functionality to bring forward that extra window with the meta data.
2) The functionality of the big button is changed to start the playback of a station.
It makes it easier to "hit" the radio station for playback when you as a user rather want music than information.

It think the problem resides in the image cache.
Probably limiting the cache to X images, and making sure they have a maximum size, would greatly reduce the memory usage.
You could also add a timer: after 5 mins an image isn't used, just remove it from the cache. The cache is needed the most when looking for new stations. It doesn't make sense to keep 500 images in cache after 10 mins of listening the same station.https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/issues/511Volume control should control the Chromecast volume when streaming to it2021-04-05T08:48:40ZAndrej ShaduraVolume control should control the Chromecast volume when streaming to itThe volume control doesn’t appear to change the volume on the cast device, instead (apparently) controlling the local volume. The volume control doesn’t appear to change the volume on the cast device, instead (apparently) controlling the local volume.https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Shortwave/-/issues/500use new ability to fetch multiple stations at once2024-01-22T23:15:38ZAlexuse new ability to fetch multiple stations at oncethere is a new api endpoint which you could use to fetch multiple streams by uuid in one call:
