2 monitors: Missing desktop icons -- JS ERROR: Error: No property 'y' in property list (or its value was undefined)
Ubuntu 19.04 beta 1 GNOME Shell 3.32.0 GNOME nautilus 3.32.0
etc
Just tried the Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo & upon logging in & starting GNOME for the first time, I see only a single folder from ~/Desktop on the Desktop -- and nothing else.
This error appears in the log:
JS ERROR: Error: No property 'y' in property list (or its value was undefined)#012findMonitorIndexForPos@/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/desktopManager.js:53:48#012_addFileItemCloseTo@/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/desktopManager.js:593:28#012_layoutChildren@/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/desktopManager.js:616:13#012_resetGridsAndScheduleLayout/this._layoutChildrenId<@/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/desktopManager.js:573:73
I have two monitors. Thought maybe unplugging one would make a difference. But no dice. however, changing line 593 in /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/desktopManager.js
from:
let monitorIndex = findMonitorIndexForPos(x, y);
to:
let monitorIndex = 1;
Causes ALL the icons (folders + files) to finally appear on the left monitor.
Why this issue, I dunno. But I'll leave it to you.
Enjoy. ft
