Build against a bit newer dependencies

This goes on top of !619 (merged) and moves us up to what Debian testing currently has thanks to the work of Peter and @a-wai reducing the dept and making things more easy to build on current systems.

I didn't test any of this as local builds here take ages and I'm not running sqeekboard myself so this is "if it compiles it works" 😺
