i18n improvements

Now that po is a thing:

• add the desktop file
• cleanup .gitignore
• Tweak desktop file to become translatable
• drop translatable strings from c files to make intltool-update pass

I think with after this is merged we can ask GNOMEs i18n team to add squeeboard
