Scanner disapears after first scan
First, I must say, that I plug the scanner only when I need it, and thus its system ID changes from one use to the next. Thus I always open the preferences to detect the scanner after I launch Paperwork.
Besides, at first I used my scanner on the PC itself. Now it is shared by a remote sane server on my home-server, and I use it with the net
sane driver.
Since a couple of months or so, after a first (successful) scan has been performed, a second scan always times-out, and a dialog appears, saying: (translated from French) “Scanner not found (is your scanner on?) (error: libinsane-quark: Libinsane get devices error: 0x40000003, Invalid value (4))
”.
If I quit the application and start it anew, it does not recognize/find the scanner any more, leaving the 3 fields in the preferences (peripheral, default source and resolution) empty. I get this STDOUT:
INFO paperwork.frontend.settingswindow Looking for scan devices ...
INFO paperwork.paperwork ../libinsane/subprojects/libinsane/src/bases/sane.c:L206(ensure_sane_is_init): Sane version code: 0x100001C
INFO paperwork.paperwork ../libinsane/subprojects/libinsane/src/bases/sane.c:L305(lis_sane_list_devices): Sane: list_devices() ...
INFO paperwork.paperwork ../libinsane/subprojects/libinsane/src/bases/sane.c:L358(lis_sane_list_devices): Sane: list_devices(): 0 devices found
INFO paperwork.frontend.settingswindow End of scan for device
WARNING paperwork.frontend.util.jobs Job DeviceFinder:0 took 67291ms and is unstoppable ! (maximum allowed: 500ms)
If however I unplug the scanner and plug it again, and relaunch the application, and open the preferences again, then the application correctly detects the scanner with values Epson GT-8200
, Flatbed
, and 300 (recommended)
. Please find attached the STDOUT in this case (paperwork_ok.stdout).
I also attach the STDOUT of a first successful scan (paperwork_scan.stdout).
Additional info:
- version: Archlinux package version 1.3.1-1
