Opening rsync via AMPRNet
Hi, we created a new mirror:
http://mirror.funkfreundelandshut.de/gimp
rsync://mirror.funkfreundelandshut.de/mirror/gimp/
We are getting the whole repo.
The mirror is also available within AMPRNet / Hamnet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMPRNet), which gives access to ham radio amateurs.
The address (you won't be able to open it without AMPRNet access) is
http://haproxy.dl4ste.ampr.org/gimp
rsync://haproxy.dl4ste.ampr.org/mirror/gimp/
The mirror is located in Germany and will be synced each 6 hours.
Please do not hesitate to contact me in case of any questions.
Best,
Christoph.

Hi, i'm new to the gimp
I found 2 properties of the gimprc file that have no description in the man page at https://www.gimp.org/man/gimprc.html :
(default-snap-to-canvas no)
(default-snap-to-grid no)
As i'm new to the gimp, so i don't know whether other properties are missing.

## Description
GNU LibreJS is a browser extension to ensure only Free or trivial javascript code is run by a website on the user's computer.
The recognize some common third-party libraries as Free (for example jQuery), and provide a way to label other javascript code with the appropriate license for excmple via so-called JavaScript Web Labels:
https://www.gnu.org/licenses/javascript-labels.html
More information:
https://www.gnu.org/software/librejs/free-your-javascript.html
https://www.gnu.org/software/librejs/

We're enabling www.gimp.org for the use of a Content Security Policy at the moment, so we won't have to bother with inline javascript.https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/gimp-web/-/issues/66Add an "Upcoming Events" section2024-01-10T15:01:08ZBugzillaAdd an "Upcoming Events" section## Submitted by Pat David `@patdavid`

## Description
Per prokoudine on IRC, look at including a section on the front page for upcoming events, or at least a new page on the site to enumerate events where there will be some sort of GIMP presence.
Proposed list of possible events include:
* CG Event (Moscow)
* CCC (Chaos Computer Club)
* LGM (Libre Graphics Meeting)
* TXLF (Texas Linux Fest)
* SCALEX (South California Linux Expo)
* SELF (Southeast Linux Fest)
Ideally (at least for North America) I'd like to prioritize the list of possible events to focus attention on ones that are most likely to be effective for us ('effective' definition subject to change + debate - to be defined later).https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/gimp-web/-/issues/65Add sample use of the with-files macro to the Basic Batch tutorial2021-10-22T10:32:34ZBugzillaAdd sample use of the with-files macro to the Basic Batch tutorial## Submitted by Michael Schumacher

## Description
With [bug 726947](https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726947), a new and easy way to apply script code to a list of files has been applied to the development branch of GIMP.
This obsoletes most of the code in our Basic Batch tutorial examples, namely all the file-globing and looping through the results returned by the loop - the user can concentrate on writing the actual image-manipulation code and only has to worry about exporting and/or saving the modified image afterwards.

## Description
I was trying to find the downloadable version of the GIMP user manual for Windows but i could not see to find it under DOCS and DOWNLOAD on www.gimp.org.
It was under DOWNLOAD > "Current Stable Version
The current stable release of GIMP is 2.8.16 (2015-11-21)."
And i had to click "Microsoft Windows" to show the links.
I just dont find it logical that it would be under "Current Stable Version" when it says the currenct stable realase of GIMP.
Under DOCS is the online version, but not the downloadable.
I would expect the online and offline version to be on the same page.https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/gimp-web/-/issues/57Change download dialogue into a donation button after click2022-07-25T10:31:13ZBugzillaChange download dialogue into a donation button after click## Submitted by tobias

Hi Pad,
I've just seen, that the Blender download dialogue [1] turns into a
donation button after you clicked the download link. I think that's
very cool an it would be nice to have it for the Gimp homepage too.
Regards,
Tobias

Pad:
I agree! I'll see what I can do about adding it gracefully to the page (if you wanted to put this into bugzilla as an enhancement that would be great!).

Using the gimp-python (python-fu) documentation to write some GIMP plugins, but some aspects were unclear, and it took me longer than it should have to successfully write my first plugin.
I will submit a patch that adds clarifications.
