Upgrade from 43.1 to 44.0 on Arch blocks initial render of GTK apps for minutes
Upgrading xdg-desktop-portal-gnome from 43.1 to 44.0 (or 44.1) makes GTK applications like Firefox and Gedit take minutes to do their initial render. After that they are both smooth, until a resize happens and it takes another few minutes to get responsive.
System
OS: Arch Linux 6.1.28-1-lts
WM: i3 4.22-4 (but also happens on sway 1.8.1-1 and gnome 44.1-1)
