Tweak @theme_base_color to increase the contrast for better legibility
This is a follow-up from the discussion at gtk#2524 (closed), and the consequent merge request at gtk!1535 (closed)
It appears that tweaking @theme_base_color
, making it brighter (shade(@theme_base_color, 1.1)
) when used with the light theme and darker (shade(@theme_base_color, 0.67)
) when used with the dark variant, further improves the legibility of the terminal by enhancing the contrast.
Attempts to globally change the @theme_base_color
didn't work out. VteTerminal
is a bit special compared to other document and text widgets. eg., it uses monospace fonts.
