Consider using tilde instead of hyphen for future pre-release version numbers
Debian has a special version numbering system where the only character that sorts before numbers is the tilde
I suggest you use that instead of the hyphen
- for future pre-release version numbers. (It might be better to keep the version numbering for the 2.2 series but make the change for 2.3.).
It's not a big deal since Debian definitely has ways to work around interesting upstream version numbering patterns.
