Insane file indexing after every reboot/login
Affected version
Fedora 39 / GNOME Shell 45, Fedora 40 / GNOME Shell 46, Wayland
Bug summary
I have 1 TB SSD mounted to the Music folder and it contains my music collection with cover art. SSD contains over 31 000 files and have unchanged content most of the time. Nevertheless, tracker-extract-3 scans the contents of this disk at maximum disk speed almost every login for about 10 minutes, wasting disk and computer resources pointlessly. If the contents of the disk are already indexed and have not changed, why is it needed? Also, indexing could happen when the computer is idle, not immediately after logging in.
What did you expect to happen
Indexing files only if disk content is changed and when computer is idle.
