Unable to Detect My Epson ET-3850 Scanner from my Laptop (via a wireless connection)
This is my only scanner, but note, NO scanner is detected no matter how often I click the refresh button:
I am running simple-scan (Document Scanner) 42.0-1 on Linux Mint 21.1 Vera.
(Kernel: 5.15.0-58-generic x86_64
bits: 64
compiler: gcc 11.3.0
Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0
tk: Gtk 3.24.23
wm: xfwm
dm: LightDM
base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy)
Simple-scan is downloaded from the official Mint/Ubuntu repositories for my installation.
The computer is as follows: Laptop Mother Board: Micro-Star model: MS-16GJ v: REV:1.0, UEFI: American Megatrends v: E16GJID6.10A, date: 04/13/2016;
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700HQ;
Wireless Network: Intel Wireless 3165, driver: iwlwifi v: kernel ,pcie: speed: 2.5 GT/s.
VPN: NordVPN Version 3.15.3. with the following subnets whitelisted: 192.168.0.0/16 & 192.168.1.0/24.
(I believe this removes this printer/scanner from being blocked by the VPN.)
I have only one scanner, an Epson ET-3850 (Epson3A97F1). Firmware: 05.10.XB10M2.
I am attempting to access the scanner using WiFi on 192.168.1.139 via a default gateway at 192.168.1.254
(Device URI: lpd://192.168.1.139:515/PASSTHRU). Security is WPA2-PSK(AES).
Note that this is not via "Wifi Direct".
Related issues may be 343 and 287. Each have some similarities to my issue, but I have attempted to include much more of the information you may need. Printing is working on this connection.
