Failed to scan: Unable to start scan
After over a year using it in Linux Mint with the Document Scanner frontend, my Fujitsu S1500 has stopped working. Document Scanner sees my scanner, but, when I click the GUI Scan button, I get the error message "Failed to scan: Unable to start scan."
To verify, I ran sane-find-scanner
, and here's the relevant portion of the results:
could not fetch string descriptor: Pipe error
could not fetch string descriptor: Pipe error
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04c5, product=0x11a2) at libusb:008:004
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.
I ran scanimage -L
, and it returns: device fujitsu:ScanSnap S1500:20363 is a FUJITSU ScanSnap S1500 scanner
.
As suggested, I set export SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
, ran simple-scan --debug
, and have attached the results. Hope someone can help.document-scanner.log
