Allow opting out from "encrypt to self"
When encrypting a file from Nautilus with Right click → Encrypt, the file is encrypted:
- to the recipient chosen by the user → good, that's the whole point of the operation
- to one of the user's own keys (it seems it's to the public key corresponding to the most recently added/created private key)
The latter is not communicated to the user, who may or may not be aware of it. This can lead to de-anonymizing users in sensitive situations, such as whistleblowers.
It would be nice to add an option on the GUI about whether or not to encrypt to self, so that:
- The user is made aware of the default behavior.
- If the default behavior is dangerous for them, the user may opt out from it.
