Flatpak version issues with v41
Today I received an update for Polari v41. The new version stopped working complaining about missing GLES 2.0 support, which was weird considering the hardware I'm using.
After a lot of research it appears Polari is now using hardware acceleration which is not supported in flatpak by default. I had to install another app called "Flatseal" in order to override Polari permissions and allow hardware acceleration. Can you do something so that future installs of the flatpak version avoids that issue?
After forcing that permission I was able to run Polari v41, however I got some issues with it:
- the quality of the font rendering is worse than on previous versions, I can notice a slight blur especially on the title bar font where the channel message is rendered. This rendering issue is the exact same than in every Wine apps: in every wine app fonts are always more blurry than on windows. Now Polari offers the same "rendering effect" just maybe a bit better.
- the app is now a bit heavier on CPU as it now sometimes can trigger the laptop fans to spin all the way up to 4K RPM.
Can you do anything to fix font rendering and improve CPU usage?
Due to the CPU issue and font issue I have downgraded to the previous flatpak version which does not have any problem. (I'm now back on commit 46dfe5ed52fd83cc7b4a07f4b0ca6f6b0246d4d656a0376155e3404100dd9333)
