Unable to connect to Freenode; possible server authentication error (v3.34.0)
Summary: Polari 3.34.0 is unable to connect to Freenode network and asks for Freenode password even after the correct password has been given.
Description: The Freenode network was selected from the "Add Network" dialogue (Fig. 1). The user is prompted to join a chat room (Fig. 2). However, no chat messages are loaded.
A key icon appears next to thenetwork name, presumably indicating that Freenode has requested a password for the requested nickname. After setting the desired nickname in the "Properies" dialogue (reached by secondary-click on the network listing), the user enters the correct pssword for that nickname (Fig. 3). (The accureacy of the password was verified by successfully logging into Freenode on Weechat using the specified nickname and password.)
The key icon is replaced by a "loading" (spinning disk) icon for a few seconds (Fig. 4), before reverting back to the key icon (Fig. 5). All attempts to connect to Freenode using Polari will result in an endless loop of being asked for a password.
