Clip selection is slow (needs 1-2s for a clip to be darkened/selected)

Description
Hi,
Using Pitivi daily build 159 on my Debian Sid 64 bits, loading 3 clips and pushing them to the timeline (project properties are set to default=unchanged) :
Elephant Dreams http://video.blendertestbuilds.de/download.php?file=download.blender.org/ED/ED_1024.avi
Sintel trailer https://download.blender.org/durian/trailer/sintel_trailer-720p.ogv
Big Buck Bunny http://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/big_buck_bunny_720p_h264.mov
I've noticed that selecting a clip (and jumping from one to another) in the timeline is not instaneous (takes ~1-2s), which is not a good feedback to the user.
My hardware is an Intel Core i3-3225 with 8 Go and clips are 720p ou 1024p as you can see. I'm a bit surprised.
Neither my CPU nor my RAM are at their max when I control them with System Monitor
note that :
- the lag occurs even if the project is set for iPod
- jumping from one point to another on the ruler is ~instantaneous
- flying over clips on timeline shows labels ~instantenous
here is a screencast (which will remain online for 60 days) :
