Exported frame does not exactly match video after re-importing it
- Create a GNOME screencast with some white screen pixels (255,255,255) in it.
- Import the WEBM into a Pitivi project as a clip.
- Export a frame as a PNG.
- Import the frame PNG and add it as a clip.
- Render the whole thing (using default settings to export OGV, although I get similar results with MP4).
- The PNG part of the movie is noticeably dimmer than the WEBM part. In the latter, white pixels are (253,253,253) (using the GNOME Video player's "Take a screenshot" feature to grab a PNG), the latter are (232,232,232).
This is a problem when you want to "freeze frame" a frame of a clip. The natural thing to do is to export the frame as an image, then cut the clip at that point and insert the frame as a new clip. I was advised to do this on IRC:
<aleb> roc: It's not the most convenient, you need to use top-right menu -> Export current frame, and at the same time press
s
to split the clip to remember the position, then import the exported image and insert it as a clip there.
But because of the above issue, the colors don't match in the final render.
I guess this is a colorspace issue ...
