Completely broken kerning for some Microsoft TTF fonts

This is basically a copy of a bug report in Redhat bugzilla since Pango developers reside here.

The core Tahoma font has very bad/broken kerning in Pango >= 1.44.

Example 1: core-fonts-broken-kerning-pango-1.44
Example 2: pango-1447-updates
Example 3 (**uses the Tahoma font from Windows 10** in case people object to supporting older Microsoft fonts): windows_10_tahoma_with_pango_1.44.7

I would love this bug to be fixed because I cannot use Fedora/Linux in general otherwise.

Here's my .fonts.conf file: fonts.conf

I also have this variable exported system wide:

export FREETYPE_PROPERTIES=truetype:interpreter-version=35

You can download the font in question from here (the core version which is free to distribute).
