Pango should ignore BDF/PCF bitmaps if OpenType variants exist
I'm a package maintainer for NixOS and I'm in the process of converting BDF/PCF fonts packages to the OTB format. A problem I encountered is that if both .pcf and .otb font files are installed for a specific font, GTK applications seems to always use the .pcf, resulting in the missing glyphs as in issue #386 (closed). Removing all the .pcf files forces applications to load the right format, which confirms the OpenType font is working.
This is pretty annoying as it requires to either remove all other formats, which I would prefer not to for compatibility, or split the fonts into multiple packages. So I was wondering if something could be done.
