yEnc files with corrupt file names
Sometimes I come across yEncoded files that seem to have corrupted file names. If I save the file, the task window shows the right file name (probably derived from the Subject:
line), but the file that is actually saved has some corrupted name. It seems that name comes from the file name mentioned in the yEnc file.
When that happens I also usually see lots of .ERRORS
files for the parts, and further the parts of each yEncoded file are not nicely stitched together, but each one seems to be saved separately, as in foobar
, foobar_copy_2
, foobar_copy_3
, etc. I'm not sure why the yDecoder doesn't see that these parts need to be put together.
Regarding the names, maybe some option to use the file name from the Subject line would be useful. Or autodetection, if this is somehow possible.
