gnome-shell become silent when ibus-pinyin activated
Reproduce environment:
- Orca 42.beta in Ubuntu 22.04 daily build
- Orca 3.37.1 in Ubuntu 20.04
- ibus-pinyin, ibus-libpinyin, ibus-sunpinyin (any Chinese input source with candidate characters panel shown on screen)
Reproduce procedure:
- Open gnome-shell with CTRL+ALT+t
- Input some English characters. Orca can read them normally.
- Install ibus-pinyin with
sudo apt install ibus-pinyin
and activated ibus-pinyin withibus engine pinyin
. - After activated ibus-pinyin, there will be a panel with candidate Chinese characters shown when we touch alphabet keys. After this panel shown (this is the key step), Orca will become silent in gnome-shell except reading special keys like Enter/Control.
- If I switch input method from ibus-pinyin to English, Orca works normally again in gnome-shell.
