shift-click on folder to open new window, in List View
Use cases
I'd like to be able to shift-click to open a folder in a new window rather than a tab. Currently, both shift-click and control-click open into new tabs. I find it easier to drag files to a window rather than a tab's title when I want to use the mouse (otherwise I'd use mv).
I know I can get a new window by right clicking and selecting "Open in new window", or by highlighting the folder and hitting shift+return. That's not the solution I'm after.
I'd also like to be able to customize whether that new window becomes active or not by holding down different keys.
Desired behavior
shift-click opens folder in a new window & new window is frontmost shift-ctrl-click opens folder in a new window & new window is sent behind the current window
Benefits of the solution
Makes it easier to organize files using the UI.
Possible drawbacks
If users already customized shift-click or control-click, this change might be unexpected, but I don't see evidence of that here.
