"~" shortcut: Auto-fill "~/" instead of "~"
Use cases
You want to go to a folder based in your home directory.
That's where pressing ~
comes in handy.
After using the shortcut, one can type his desired path.
...and for every folder, except the home folder itself,
you'll have to type an additional /
after the auto-filled ~
.
Desired behavior
When pressing the ~
key, the line for the folder should be
auto-filled to ~/
instead of ~
.
Benefits of the solution
- faster typing
- (
~
is the same as~/
, this use case still possible)
Possible drawbacks
- users, who are used to typing an additional
/
, could be confused for the first time the character is being auto-filled.
