Nautilus doesn't follow default cp behavior. Copies permissions along with the files, ignores the permissions of the destination folder.
Steps to reproduce
- Copy a file
- Paste the file
- The permissions get copied along with the file.
Reproducible in:
Fedora 28.
Current behavior
Permissions get copied to the destination folder, contrary to user expectations, default cp
behavior and the desire to not have a whole mess of heterogeneous permissions in every folder, just cause you happen to be moving files around using Nautilus. The current behavior is desired in about 1/100 cases.
Expected behavior
Just copy the files, inherit permissions from the destinations folder! Or give users the choice.
