Search results are strangely sorted
Hi,
I think I have understood that it has deliberately been chosen to not enable the choice of the sort key in search results (from what I read here: Bug 778484).
As a daily nautilus search function user, this is clearly a feature I miss, but I understand that sometime different dev choices from my needs can be made.
However, I still don't understand how are sorted the results since files are not sorted by "most recent" neither by "filename". This can be verified by looking at the "last modification" date, or by looking at the file names (indeed in my example all files start with a 6 digit numbers which corresponds to the file date formatted like YYMMDD, so it is easy to check).
If you look at the attached file, it seems to sort by "blocks" and then by "most recent" within those blocks...
I do not know how are the numbers taken into account in the alphabetical sort of file names, but there is something strange, or at least hard to understand.
Can someone confirm that this is supposed to be a "normal" behaviour, and in that case explain how it works ? Otherwise can someone confirm this is an issue ?
The lack of the sort search results feature is already a handicap in my daily usage, but not understanding the default sorting makes it very hard to use and is frustrating.
Thanks !
