Opening nautilus from the shell overview fails to list files

The bug was reported on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1812505

Using the current nautilus 3.30 serie tarball with tracker enabled/disk indexed on the current Ubuntu, one example of the issue

  • ~/Download contains a "ticket.pdf"
  • the gnome-shell overview lists it as a file
  • clicking on the "files" icons on the left of the result open a nautilus view with 'ticket' written in the search bar and a 'No result found' label

Doing 'esc' and typing 'ticket' does list several results including the one that was in the shell screen

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
