Touch screen context menu works very poorly
There are a lot of bugs with the touch screen context menu added in 3.28.
On X11 session:
No. 1
Open a folder with enough files to enable the scroll bar. Tap a file to select it (workaround for issue #519 (closed)). Then long press it. The context menu appears, and sometimes immediately disappears when I lift my finger from the screen. The context menu should always remain on the screen so I get a chance to select something from it.
No. 2
Open a folder with a small amount of files (without a scroll bar). Long press any file. Then tap twice (or sometimes once) in an empty spot. The file that was previously long pressed jumps as if it were being dragged. Video
(This video is recorded on the Xorg session with touch screen only (despite the cursor). It illustrates problem No. 2, problem No. 1 can also be seen once.)
On Wayland session:
Long press any folder owned by user. The context menu does not appear, no matter how many times I try. Sometimes, if I try many times "New bookmark" appears in the left sidebar.
Long pressing a file works good. And long pressing a folder which is read-only (e.g. in root dir) also works good.
Also nautilus crashes very frequently, as evidenced by the crash at the end of the video. I am going to try to get a backtrace later. (I've never done this before so I need to read up on how to do this.)
System Information
Distro: Debian testing with Gnome 3.30 and Nautilus 3.30.
Also tested in Fedora 28 with Gnome/Nautilus 3.28 (same result).
