Can't switch the keyboard layout when renaming a file
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other: 44.2.1 (Arch Linux)
- GTK4 - 4.12.1
Steps to reproduce
- Have more than 1 keyboard layout configured on your system, so that you are able to switch between 2.
- Have a keyboard shortcut configured to switch layouts through "Gnome Tweaks"-Keyboard&Mouse-Additionaд Layout Options-Switching to another layout, in my instance the shortcut is "Alt+Shift".
- Right click on any file and click "Rename...".
- Have the "Rename File" dialog open and prompting to enter a new file.
- Try to use the shortcut that switches the keyboard layout.
Current behavior
The keyboard layout will not switch as long as the "Rename file" dialog is open.
Expected behavior
The keyboard layout should switch regardless of whether any dialog is open. Sometimes I realize I have the wrong layout selected after I try to rename file, and sometimes I want to have a file that has a multilingual name, and currently Nautilus does not allow me to do such a basic task.
