[BUG] Nautilus no longer automatically updates new icons/folders when created/update
Hi all, I wanted to report a new bug I found in Ubuntu. I especially want to report a bug in Nautilus, the default file explorer of GNOME / Ubuntu / Fedora.
THE BUG
in short, in the new version of Ubuntu 23.04, Nautilus, the file explorer, no longer automatically updates the status of the icons. In other words, when I create/delete a file or folder, it still shows up and I have to press F5 or ctrl+R to refresh the Nautilus screen.
I can see that this is a bug of the new version of Ubuntu because I also installed Ubuntu on a new separate virtual machine and that too had this annoying bug and also with other file explorers eg: Nemo, Caja, Dolphin and Tunar it didn't show up (confirming that the problem is exclusively with Nautilus).
also try to change the windows manager (from Wayland to X11) the nautilus bug persists.
ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE
Reading in other forums I looked for possible solutions, one was to edit the file in /etc/sysctl.conf
and add the string fs.inotify.max_user_watches=1000000
and then update the file with sudo sysctl -p
but the problem still persists.
Are you also experiencing this annoying bug? You managed to find a solution? Thank you all!
