Folders in grid view are shaking when using scrollbar in certain conditions (Files 43.x)
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other: Fedora 37, X11, Files 43.2
Steps to reproduce
It happens with a lot of folders in one location, and it has something to do with how long folder name is (fits in 1, 2 or 3 lines) If you create 1000 folders with names "0001, 0002, 0003" etc, the bug won't trigger. I will attach a text file with list of 999 directories every third of (333) is either one line name, two lines or three lines names as shown on the screenshot:
UPD: Made a video where on the left side you can see Files 42 in Fedora 36 (VM) and on the right side Files 43.2 running in my actual Fedora 37, everything else is self explanatory.
Steps to reproduce:
- Download dirs.txt
- Create an empty folder and place downloaded file inside.
- Open terminal and navigate to your folder you just created and run this command:
xargs mkdir -p < dirs.txt
(WARNING! This command will read dirs.txt and create 999 empty folders inside of your folder which you created in step # 2) - When the command is finished open the folder in Grid View and try to pull and move scrollbar, or click on empty scrollbar area holding the mouse and trying to move up and down. Here you go. Shaking will always stop after releasing scrollbar.
Additional information
I tried to reproduce this bug with clean Fedora 37 in VM but the problem is still there.
