Switching between Grid/List view grabs keyboard focus, no keys work, mouse must be used to get unstuck
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other:
nautilus-43.0-2.fc37.x86_64
, Fedora 37
Steps to reproduce
- Open Nautilus and make sure no file is selected (focused). That should be the default state when you clean-start Nautilus.
- Click on the Grid/List View button in top right using your mouse, or press
Ctrl+1
orCtrl+2
on your keyboard, to switch to the other view. - From now on, no keyboard shortcuts work. Arrows, Tab, Ctrl+1 or Ctrl+2, Ctrl+N, Ctrl+T, F1, ... nothing works. If you can't use a mouse for some reason (e.g. accessibility), you're out of luck.
- Use your mouse to click anywhere. The keyboard shortcuts are now restored and can be used.
Important: This doesn't happen if you already have some file selected (there is an outline around it) in the current folder.
Current behavior
Keyboard navigation is broken if you switch views.
Expected behavior
Keyboard navigation should continue to work.
Additional information
This is a regression. With nautilus-42.2-1.fc36.x86_64
everything works fine.
