List view much slower in 43 than in 42 on "large" directories

Affected version

  • Nightly flatpak: Can't test it because not enough free space
  • Other: 43.0, from Debian (package version 43.0-1)

Use cases

Opening a "large" directory (such as in my case a directory with 200 image files -- not that large) got way slower after upgrading to 43 : there was no noticeable delay with 42 and now it takes about 2 seconds before any line appears. This is only with the list view, the icon view is ok.

Available features and workarounds

Not using nautilus and switching back to a terminal. (but the icon view could be deemed a workaround in some cases)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
