context menues: missisng fuctionalities file manager actions & previous versions via deja dup
Affected version
I am on Ubuntu 22.04 and Nautilus 42.2
Use cases
Use context menu to trigger some file type specific actions.
On Ubuntu 20.04 there was the extension file-manager-actions: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/filemanager-actions along with an extension for nautilus. Now on 22.04 the extension for nemo is still present but the one for nautilus is missing.
In the same vein, for Nautilus on Ubuntu 20.04 there was an entry in the context menu for previous versions (saved with deja-dup). This entry is missing on nautilus Ubuntu 22.04. It is very sad that an easy rollback of a single file is not possible anymore. I consider this as a basic and fundamental property.
I like the clean interface of nautilus but the "restricted" context menus now no longer allow to streamline some workflows. I would therefore be very grateful if both functionality are realised again.
Available features and workarounds
For file manager actions nemo can be used. The extension does work.
Difficulties and insufficiencies
Need to switch file manager. No easy recovery of backup files from deja-dup.
Best regards,
Georg
