Unexpected behavior upon activating "Show hidden files"
Affected version
Steps to reproduce
- Open Files. Reflect for a moment at the beauty of the "in development" titlebar theme.
- From the primary menu, ensure "Show Hidden Files" is not activated. If it is, inactivate it and reopen Files.
- From the primary menu, activate "Show Hidden Files" via mouse click. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+h).
Current behavior
A new, unclosable window of Files is opened on top of the existing one. Trying to use functionality in the new one results in the program crashing.
When closing the existing Files window, the new one closes after about 20 seconds.
"Show Hidden Files" is activated and the current folder in view is visibly refreshed, showing hidden files, where there are any.
Expected behavior
"Show Hidden Files" is activated.
Additional information
This does not happen later edit, yes it also happens with the Files version shipped with GNOME OS 43 alpha, not only with the manually installed Files (containing beta in its About window).
This happens when "Show Hidden Files" is activated as well, but I cannot consistently reproduce the behavior.
