Nautilus isn't used for org.freedesktop.FileManager1 service
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Can't test it because this feature supposedly doesn't work there, and this is a system level problem.
- Other: nautilus-3.38.2-1.fc33.x86_64
Steps to reproduce
- Install GNOME
- Install Xfce
- Login to GNOME
- Download something in Firefox
- Click "Open Containing Folder"
Current behavior
Folder opens in Thunar (Xfce's file manager)
Expected behavior
Folder opens in Nautilus (The current DE's default file manager)
Additional information
Seen with Thunar-1.8.17-1.fc33.x86_64.
I don't know how this is supposed to work. The FileManager1 says nothing about how to resolve the issue of multiple providers, and D-Bus fundamental behaviour here is essentially that things will be random. Perhaps Nautilus needs to make sure it grabs this service on login and cannot rely on D-Bus service activation?
