Rethink whether to restore window size and position
As discussed on Discourse (I linked to the post that describes it best in my opinion), there are situations where restoring the window size is not expected. Nautilus is an application that is often used with multiple windows and in a lot of different contexts. Especially when edge-tiled, the window has a size that feels very unnatural on the next startup. In my opinion, Nautilus looks best in its default state (non-maximized, 890 x 550) and the whole window restoration code could be removed. What do you think? I don't want to be too radical here.
Steps to reproduce
- Run
gsettings reset org.gnome.nautilus.window-state initial-size
- Start Nautilus
- Drag window to the edge and let it tile
- Close window
- Restart Nautilus
