Rename last entry transports to parent directory

Try this one out (it's so cool):

  1. Get a nautilus window that's filled with entries and with the last entry visible in the last position of window, but partially covered when hovering.

  2. Right click on the left side of visible portion of the entry to get the pop-up menu.

  3. Select rename, and then right arrow once to get you to the period separating filename from its extension.

  4. Oops. Changed my mind: Hit Esc to change your mind and cancel rename.

  5. Click the breadcrumb at the top to go to the parent directory, 'cause you are not sure that Nautilus actually works.

  6. See nautilus take you to the listing of the parent directory, ready to enter your next keystrokes as the new name of the subdirectory. Better hit Esc again to straighten Nautilus out before you SNAFU your directory structure.

Pretty cool, right? I have to say, though, Nautilus sure does have a certain look and feel to it that it never used to have when everything worked. You go guys!
