Issue created Oct 05, 2019 by Tom Reynolds@tomreyn

Deleting starred files leaves behind starred file named ""

Affected version

  • Nightly flatpak: Can't test it because with the Flatpak installed, the Ubuntu 19.10 Desktop is broken (just shows a grey background for the Desktop after login, no interaction with the Dock or panel are possible)
  • Other: Ubuntu 19.10 beta (amd64), gnome-shell 3.34.0-1ubuntu1, Nautilus 1:3.34.0-1ubuntu1

Steps to reproduce

  1. Star any file
  2. Verify the file is listed in Starred as expected
  3. Delete the original file

Current behavior

Deleting a file that is Starred leaves behind an object "" in Starred.

Expected behavior

Deleting a file that is Starred removes any traces to this file from Starred, or removal of files which are still listed in Starred is prevented.

Additional information

It does not matter whether the file is first moved to Trash, then Trash expunged, or whether the file is immediately deleted using Shift-Delete or external ways of interacting with FSO's (e.g. 'rm' on the CLI).

This issue was originally reported against Nautilus in Ubuntu on Launchpad.
