allow launching .desktop files from command line (or script)
Not sure if this is the right place but I have a problem that I cannot find a solution for. I am installing a program with a script and creating the .desktop file with the same script. It used to be that I could chmod +x someprog.desktop (from within the script)and I was good to go. Now I have to right click and check "allow launching". Is there a command I can use in a script to accomplish this?? I originally wrote the script to take all the PITA setup and configuration of a crypto wallet out of the process and everything is ready to go when the script finishes. It worked great until now as I was running older versions of Gnome (I assume). To be clear, I ran into this problem on the experimental version of Tails (3.17) which is based on Buster.
