Shell crashes with "assertion failed: (n_connectors > 0)" in `meta_gpu_kms_flip_crtc`
This downstream bug was for a crash on assertion failure in meta_gpu_kms_flip_crtc
- "assertion failed: (monitor_manager->power_save_mode == META_POWER_SAVE_ON)". That was #509 (closed) and it got fixed in 3.32.1. However, we've since got a few "duplicates" of the bug reported. I got a backtrace from one reporter and it seems it's crashing in just about the same place, but with a different assertion error: "assertion failed: (n_connectors > 0)". Reporter's description of when they encountered the bug:
"Connecting an external monitor via a HDMI-to-VGA convertor (HDMI port on computer) causes system to freeze. When HDMI cable is subsequently unplugged, gnome-shell crashes and I am returned to the login screen.
I'm running Fedora 30 (updated 5 minutes ago) on a Lenovo Thinkpad L380.
I've noticed this problem occur before when using a USB-C to DP/mDP cable as well."
