mutter 47.3 crashes as soon as user types character into window in RDP gnome-remote-desktop screen sharing session
- Log into a GNOME session.
- Configure the session for RDP screen-sharing via gnome-remote-desktop.
- Install and enable the Allow Locked Remote Desktop gnome-shell extension.
- Lock the screen.
- Attempt to remote into the desktop from another computer.
- As soon as you type a single character through RDP into the password field to unlock the screen. the following happens:
- Your remote desktop client disconnects.
- The gnome-shell "Oops!" screen flashes briefly.
- The lock screen comes back and the password field is filled in with a bunch of characters even though you only typed one.
- Clear the password and type your password to unlock the screen.
- Observe that there is now an "Oops!" screen and you need to kill your session and log back in.
This worked fine with gnome-remote-desktop 47.0.
The only thing Allow Locked Remote Access does is replace the inhibit_remote_access
function in the Remote Access Controller with a function that does nothing. The intended behavior of this function has not, as far as I can tell, changed recently, so I don't think the problem here is in Allow Locked Remote Desktop.
