Crash on startup, with a backtrace pointing to _clutter_stage_window_redraw_view
Observed on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T310) running postmarketOS edge with the 6.7.6 mainline kernel. It's an Exynos 4212 device (armv7) with a Mali 400-MP4 GPU. Judging by the backtrace, the issue appears to happen in mutter's code, so I'm submitting this here - feel free to move to another repo if necessary.
GDM fails to start up; it attempts to run in X11 mode, but gnome-shell repeatedly crashes, and I get the "Oh no! Something has gone wrong" screen (notably with some small graphical artifacting on the font... will submit a screenshot in a reply). After debugging with sudo gdb -p $(pidof gnome-shell)
, I get the two backtraces below (first one is just the SIGSEGV, second one is on a continue
after it).
Notably, this started happening after an upgrade to GNOME 46. It previously worked with GNOME 45 with no such issues. A clean install does not fix it.
