Some Xwayland apps (chrome, DaVinci Resolve) always flickering after upgrading to GNOME 45
Affected version
Arch Linux, 6.6.7-arch1-1, Mutter 45, Wayland.
Bug summary
Running Google Chrome or DaVinci Resolve (they use Xwayland), the main window always flickering some parts, which is very annoying.
I think this only happens after I upgraded to GNOME 45.
Steps to reproduce
- Login to GNOME Wayland session.
- Run Google Chrome or DaVinci Resolve.
What happened
Some parts of the window always flickering, like it tries to damage some widgets and update the UI, but gets wrong buffer.
What did you expect to happen
No flickering.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
I tried KDE Plasma Wayland session, and those apps are fine, so it looks like more a Mutter regression.
I am using a NVIDIA RTX2070S with nvidia driver 545.29.06.
I have two monitors, but if I disable one in Settings, this still happens.
The flickering is likely to happen when cursor hovers some widgets of UI. I append a screencast here:
