Screen freezes when using EGL Stream (Nvidia-470)

On an Nvidia-only desktop, MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_EGL_STREAM=1 is now a frozen, mostly black, screen. I have a gnome-shell panel and a cursor but nothing else.

The log repeats:
