Bug summary
I have noticed that when playing a video in any browser in a Wayland session causes the cursor to stutter. Oddly enough this can be fixed temporarily by unplugging and re-plugging the monitor. This fixes until the next reboot.
Steps to reproduce
- Launch a Gnome Wayland session
- Start a browser
- Play a YouTube video
- Move mouse cursor, it should exhibit some stuttering.
What happened
Considering mutter handles the cursor and when it is rendered, it seems like it misses some kind of deadline leading to some frame pacing issues related to the cursor.
What did you expect to happen
I expect the cursor to not stutter when playing a video. On Xorg this does not happen so I expect this behaviour on Wayland.
